Michael Henderson is an award-winning PGA Certified Professional with over fifteen years experience in the golf management industry.  Prior to his arrival at Lakeside Golf Course, Michael served as the Head Golf Professional at Stevens Park Golf Course and was the First Assistant Golf Professional at Dallas National Golf Club.  Michael is currently a Class "A" PGA Certified Member.  The PGA Certified designation is held by less than 2% of all PGA Members for continuing education excellence.  He has over 20 professional victories, including the following:

  • 2005, 2006, 2008 Northern Texas PGA Eastern Championship
  • 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 NTPGA Pro-Assistant Match Play Championship
  • 2006 Straight Down Invitational (Club Professional Division) 
  • 2004 Northern Texas PGA Championship
  • 2003 PGA of America Western Championship
  • 2003 Northern Texas PGA Section Championship

Michael has been honored by the PGA three times by receiving the 2012 South Cental PGA Junior Golf Leader Award, 2005 Northern Texas PGA Player of the Year Award and the 2005 Northern Texas PGA Ben Hogan Award.  Michael has qualified for the PGA Tour EDS Byron Nelson Championship three times in 1995, 2004, and 2006.  He has also represented the Northern Texas PGA competing in both the Joe Black Cup Matches and the James P. Jordan Cup Matches.  Currently, Micahel is serving as the South Central PGA Secretary.   




Mike Buxton

Mike Buxton is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on Turf grass management with a minor in Agronomy. During college he worked at the OSU Turf grass Research Station, Stillwater Country Club, Karsten Creek, and interned at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Following college Mike worked as an assistant superintendent at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa Oklahoma. In 1997 he accepted the position of construction superintendent at Crimson Creek Golf Club in El Reno, Oklahoma. In 2000 he took the position of superintendent at Lakeside Golf Course. In 2003 Mike became a Certified Golf Course Superintendent one of only 1900 in the United States. Mike is an active member of the Oklahoma Golf Course Superintendents Association, Oklahoma Turfgrass Research Foundation and the Oklahoma State OKC Turf Advisory Committee. He is currently serving as president of the Oklahoma Turfgrass Research Foundation.
